* ADFS CardBank *
****************************************************************************
CardBank is a simple database program. It allows storage of information
records in a user defined sequence. Each record consists of up to 20 fields
of 60 characters or less. One of the fields will be assigned as the 'Key
field' and this will determine the order in which the records are stored.
There are two parts to the program, creating the 'Format' and creating the
'Data'. Several 'Data' files can use the same 'Format'. There is a limit of
77 'Format' and 77 'Data' files.

Create
======
The 'Format' name must be unique. Enter the name and press return or click
on the O.K. icon. This takes you into the 'Define Format' procedure. For
each field, enter the name, field length and display sequence and select the
entry type. The entry type restricts characters which can be entered into
the field. If data entered against this field is optional then the 'Optional entry' radio icon should be on (default is on). If this is the field
which will determine the order of record storage, then select the
'Key field' radio icon on. If there can be more than one record with the same
key, set the 'Allow duplicates' radio icon on. Use the six direction icons to
move through the format. Moving one position past the end will give a blank
screen for creation of a new field. Pressing the menu button on the mouse
while over this window will produce a menu with the following options :-
Delete field - This will delete the field. Any 'Data' files which have been
setup using this format will lose any information entered against this field
(This happens the next time the 'Data' is loaded).
Insert before - This allows a field to be created in front of the current
one.
Insert after - This allows a field to be created after the current one.
Swap before - This swaps the current field with the one in front of it.
Swap after - This swaps the current field with the one after it.

Create

The 'Data' name must be unique. Enter the name and select the 'Format'. If

displayed and the 'Format' list will reappear. Pressing return or clicking on

be entered in turn. The characters allowed in each box are determined by
the field type setting in the 'Format'. Use the six direction icons to move

for creation of a new record. All records are automatically put into the
correct sequence. To update a record, use the direction icons to find the

converted to the last of these formats. Pressing the menu button on the
mouse while over this window will produce a menu with the following option :-

'Data' will be linked to the new format. This function is used when more
than one 'Data' file has been created for a single format but changes to the
format are only required on one 'Data' file.
Change password
===============
This will allow you to change the password of the selected 'Data' file.
Release
=======
While 'Data' is being updated the 'Formats' side of the program is
not available. This will close the 'Data' file and free the program to do
other things.
Report
======
This function displays a report window showing a single 'Data' record.
Use the direction icons to move through the data. You can also use
keyboard entries while the control window has input-focus. The
left and right cursor keys will single-step the data in either direction.
Any other keys will be treated as a search string (Pressing 'A'

Set password
============
This function displays a window where a password can be entered. Once the
password is set, all 'Data' files with the same password can be read.
'Data' files without passwords can be read at any time. N.B. If you use the
'Change password' function then the current password for the file must be
set before the change, and then the new password will need to be set if you
want to read the data afterwards.
